Job Description:

Our client currently has multiple openings for a Paralegal. This position will assist defense attorneys in the course of their work. The Paralegal should be familiar with analyzing claim files and records, preparing for hearings, preparing exhibits, pleadings, discovery, case management and file organization.


Responsibilities:


  • Maintain and organize client records

  • Assist in case management

  • Track and manage deadlines and discovery compliance

  • Obtain medical records

  • Process authorizations

  • Review and summarize medical records

  • Draft basic discovery

  • Trial preparation

  • Assess deposition transcripts

  • E-file court document


Education Requirements:


  • Bachelor's Degree & Paralegal Certificate preferred

  • NC State Bar Paralegal Certification preferred


Desired Background/Skills:


  • Excellent oral and written communication skills are a must

  • Self-motivated, exercising sound judgement, demonstrating good time management and teamwork skills

  • Detail-oriented, motivated, creative and capable of managing multiple tasks with conflicting deadlines in a demanding, but rewarding environment


Qualifications:


  • Knowledge of Court Rules and Procedures

  • A commitment to providing excellent client service and effectively interact with clients as well a staff

  • The ability to work independently with minimal supervision; and under strict deadlines


Other Information:


  • The paralegal hired for this position will analyze claim files and records, assist attorneys with preparation for depositions, hearings and trials, and will prepare packages for expert witness review. The paralegal will also assist with collection of exhibits for and preparation of client discovery responses. The paralegal will be responsible for organizing and managing the case files assigned.
