Senior Sales Executive
Job Description:
Our client, one of the nation's leading benefits brokerages, is seeking a Senior Sales Executive. The Sr Sales Executive is responsible for developing new business opportunities and closing sales to achieve established annual sales goals. They work closely and in partnership with Business Development Associates and/or the marketing team to identify and cultivate leads, as well as effectively close business. Effective communication, listening, and strategic selling skills are critical to success. The client base is in the metro DC area.
Responsibilities:
Identifies, prospects and closes new business via referrals, networking sources, and organic prospect meetings
Works closely with BDAs and/or marketing team to strategically nurture and cultivate prospects
Closes sales and meets or exceeds aggressive quarterly and annual revenue goals
Builds rapport and business relationships quickly and effectively via face-to-face and phone, social media, blogs, and other thought leadership opportunities
Educates prospects on business trends, compliance, products evolution, and company value proposition
Manages sales pipeline and sales activities via company database (Microsoft CRM)
Attends association events and meetings based on targeted verticals
Establishes vendor relationships and develop referral sources
Seeks opportunities for speaking engagements with select association verticals
Education Requirements:
Bachelors degree, preferred
Desired Background/Skills:
Must possess the ability to forecast opportunities and penetrate new business on a daily basis
Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to articulate the companys value proposition and capabilities
Must be PC proficient and familiar with database applications, Microsoft Office, and contact management tools
Have a great attitude, strong work ethic, be ethical, and punctual
Have the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
Possess highly effective consultative selling skills
Ability to work in a team environment
Organizational skills and ability to multi-task prioritize and achieve sales objectives
Qualifications:
7+ years experience with lead and sales generation, preferred; 5+ years, required
3+ years sales experience in employee benefits, insurance, brokerage, or related field, required
Knowledge of group health, ancillary and benefits administration products, required
