Compensation Specialist

Job Description:

Our client, a financial services organization, is seeking a Compensation Specialist to join the global Compensation, Benefits & Payroll team in the People function. This is a role in a dynamic environment at the center of firm-wide compensation strategy and support. The candidate will join a small team and collaborate with partners/collaborators across the firm, both within and outside the People function.   • Ensure effective and efficient services, reporting, analysis, and support of Global/Regional/Divisional projects in the Compensation organization

  • Understand a nuanced compensation structure that is continually adapting to changing regulations and firm-wide initiatives

  • Support the migration to a new Compensation system as part of a broader People function initiative to transform data management

  • Build and develop relationships with key collaborators such as People, Legal, Payroll and Financial Control supporting each with your subject matter expertise and providing analytics in support of policy and decision making across a range of strategic results

Education Requirements:

  • A university degree or equivalent education

Desired Background/Skills:

  • Shown ability to handle problems and take initiative to deliver solutions that are fit for purpose

  • Efficient, goal-oriented individual with attention to details, excellent work ethic and an organized approach to handling multiple priorities and timelines

  • Ability to implement an excellent process controls to ensure effective and efficient utilization while minimizing risk

  • Phenomenal interpersonal skills both written and verbal. Shown ability to handle work well under time oriented environment

  • Integrity to handle very confidential information - being discreet, proactive, resourceful and flexible

  • Dedication to fostering an inclusive culture and value varied perspectives


  • An equivalent experience of 1-2 years working with compensation / financial data

  • An Excellent proficiency in MS Office (In particular mastery of Excel including using complex formulas to analyze data)

  • Proficiency in Human Resource information management systems is desirable but not essential

  • Prior experience within a financial services industry is desirable but not essential
