Job Description:

Our client in beautiful Waianae, HI, is currently seeking a Qualified Physician, who would be responsible for providing routine, urgent and emergency care in a Federally Qualified Community Health Center?s free standing Emergency Department.

Responsibilities:

• Provide medical care across the full spectrum of age and disease including pediatric, gynecological, obstetrical and psychiatric

• Provide direct supervision for physician assistants, nurse practitioners, nurses, support staff, and medical professionals in training

• Maintain up to date patient medical records. Review and co-sign PA and NP charts while on shift

• Communicate with pre-hospital care providers, consultants and unaffiliated healthcare facilities to manage referrals and transfers of care

Education Requirements:

• Graduate from an accredited School of Medicine or Osteopathic Medicine

• Valid License to practice medicine in the State of Hawaii

Desired Background/Skills:

• Work 12 hour shifts ? including nights, weekends and holidays ? consistent with needs of the department

• Be able to sit, stand, walk, kneel and squat

• May occasionally be required to lift up to a maximum of 30 lbs

• Perform work requiring sustained periods of mental concentration

Qualifications:

• Prescriptive authority for controlled substances

• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)

• Board of certification in Emergency Medicine is required. Consideration will be given to candidates without board certification who have substantive emergency medicine practice experience
