Regional Sales Manager


Job Description:

The Regional Sales Manager represents our client within an assigned territory with the responsibility of working with customers to convey the benefits and features of our clients products specific to the HVAC/R market. The main responsibilities will be to effectively manage designated territory to grow sales revenue while professionally representing our company. Prospect, qualify, sell, support and develop account base within the plumbing wholesale, HVAC wholesale and Commercial Insulation Distribution sectors. Perform sales and account management functions to achieve and exceed quotas.


Responsibilities:


  • Explain and promote the features of our product offerings with an emphasis on application specifics.

  • Probe and listen to customers, including anticipating and responding to customer questions and concerns.

  • Actively contribute to the overall sales goals of the Company and its Sales and Marketing Departments.

  • Develop and maintain a mastery of product knowledge and consultative promotion techniques.

  • Develop and grow established accounts.

  • Service existing accounts, obtains sales orders and establishes new accounts.

  • Provide recommendations towards sales and marketing solutions based on understanding and evaluations of trends, dynamics and customer needs.

  • Maintain all sales demonstration tools and applications.

  • Develop technical presentations for current and potential customers.

  • Studies existing and potential volume by market segment.

  • Participate in and contribute to sales and marketing meetings and trade shows as appropriate.

  • Work in a team oriented environment.

  • Utilizes structured call frequency system to plan and organize daily work schedule in pursuit of existing and potential territory sale opportunities.

  • Provides lead generation and follow through.

  • Recommends changes in pricing and adjusts pricing within established guidelines.

  • Evaluates results and competitive developments.

  • Evaluates complaints, investigates problems, develops solutions; makes recommendations to management.

  • Submits regular sales forecast.

  • Conducts competitive analysis.

  • Gathers current marketplace information on competitor pricing, product, new products, service levels, merchandising techniques, etc.

  • Provides sales administration and historical records.

  • Develops and maintains customer profile and territory and account sales records.

  • Will be required to perform all other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.


Education Requirements:


  • High school diploma or GED.

  • Bachelors degree preferred.


Desired Background/Skills:


  • Problem solving and sales negotiation skills are a must.

  • General knowledge of major competitive brands.

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

  • Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

  • Solid time management and prioritization skills.

  • Position requires regular travel (50%+).


Qualifications:


  • 5 years proven direct sales experience in the plumbing products industry.

  • Experience with sales planning, budgeting and T&E expense management.
