Distribution Supervisor
Job Description:
Supervises all distribution services and operations, including fulfillment, outbound mail and shipping services, receiving and office services and coordination with our offsite warehouse. Serves as a primary backup to the Sr. Manager Inbound Mail, Distribution Services & QA on Distribution Services managerial task. 1st shift Mon - Fri (8.15pm - 4.30p), $22.50/hr pay rate, Contract to hire - intent is to hire after 500 hours
Responsibilities:
Effectively supervises personnel and operations to ensure timely fulfillment, receiving and facilities support. Maintains adequate procedures and controls to ensure accuracy and quality control in receiving the clients printed materials, pulling, packing and shipping materials and supplies.
Monitors productivity standards established by Sr. Manager for the Distribution staff and upholds performance to these standards
Coordinates inventory product shipments between AKC office & offsite warehouse; monitors replenishment of inventory stock and bin location size requirements
Ensure employees are properly trained on Distribution and Outbound Mail operation tasks and evaluate if any areas of re-training are needed; develop training plans if applicable
Compiles and completes all department statistics and reporting and provides monthly reports to Management
Monitors daily workflow to ensure that all orders and shipping service level agreements are met and maintained in accordance with department goals and standards
Schedules appropriate preventative machine maintenance, service calls & assist Sr. Manager with review of equipment replacement as needed.
Maintains reporting capability for production statistics, postage use, and requests postage downloads from Finance on DM1100 and Endicia equipment in Distribution Services.
Schedules & monitors all freight and booth shipments for AKC and affiliates as requested
Maintains written operating procedures for the Distribution Services department as approved by the Sr. Manager of Inbound Mail & Distribution Services
Update and maintain adequate department training guides and visual aides for Distribution Services department
Assist with planning and administers Division cross training
Assist with annual budget planning for Distribution Services
Provides assistance to ATS as needed; regarding equipment issues/updates etc.
Back up for daily postage chargeback data entry & serves as a back up for the monthly chargeback reconciliation; rotational basis
Back up for Sr. Manager Inbound Mail & Distribution Services & QA
Education Requirements:
College degree preferred, high school diploma or equivalent required
Desired Background/Skills:
Extensive knowledge of warehouse and inventory control procedures/processes
Prior experience supervising a team in a warehouse and/or mailroom setting.
Excellent organizational and time management skills, oral and written communication skills and effective interpersonal and personnel supervisory skills and abilities.
Ability to exercise independent judgment and demonstrate sound decision-making, problem solving skills; set priorities and accomplish assigned tasks within established deadlines.
Experience with MS Office
Ability to perform staff training and development.
