Insurance Claims Administrator

Job Description:

One of our largest clients has an immediate need for a part-time Insurance Claims Administrator. This position manages numerous claims activities regarding Workers Comp and Auto Insurance programs.


  • Manage day-to-day activities in the Workers Comp program. This includes gathering information from injured employees and supervisors and filing claims based upon information gathered.

  • Work closely with insurance companies, medical providers, third-party administrators, injured employees and their managers, and other relevant parties in tracking and efficiently managing WC cases.

  • Track claims status closely and communicate with parties involved.

  • Provide case updates and other relevant information to various management staff; must use judgment and experience to ensure all proper parties are notified of relevant information.

  • Provide written and oral reports to internal and external clients.

  • Manage day-to-day activities in the Auto Insurance program. This includes gathering information from employees who have been in auto accidents and their supervisors and filing claims based upon information gathered.

  • Work closely with insurance companies, employees and their managers in tracking and managing Auto claims.

  • Perform other tasks as assigned.

Education Requirements:

  • High School diploma and 3 years related experience or Bachelor's degree and 1 years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.

  • High attention to detail and accuracy.


  • Excellent knowledge of MS Word, Outlook, and Excel.

  • Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with clients (including employees who may have recently suffered a physical injury or property loss), supervisor, co-workers and other staff, outside insurance adjusters and insurance company representatives, and doctors and other medical providers.

  • Basic knowledge of workers comp and auto insurance programs and insurance-related law.

  • Intermediate spreadsheet skills and understanding of various computer resources.

Examples include: remaining in a stationary position for long periods of time; operating a computer and other office machinery; thinking, learning, and concentrating effectively and frequently communicating with other people, both within and outside of the company; frequently moving about inside and travel between offices and laboratories; frequently conducting laboratory site inspections (if applicable), ability to handle the stress associated in meeting frequent, multiple and tight deadlines, ability to work in excess of 40 hours per week as workload and deadlines may require, consistent demonstration of mental stability and ability to have regular, reliable and predictable attendance.
