Job Description:

Our client is seeking a Compensation Specialist to join the global Compensation, Benefits & Payroll team in the People function. This role is a compensation subject matter expert who will be involved in ensuring effective and efficient services, reporting, analysis, and support of Global/Regional/Divisional projects in the Compensation organization. The candidate will need to understand a nuanced compensation structure that is continually adapting to changing regulations and firm-wide initiatives. This role will also support the migration to a new Compensation system as part of a broader People function initiative to transform data management. This is a role in a dynamic environment at the center of firm-wide compensation strategy and support. The candidate will join a small team and collaborate with partners/collaborators across the firm, both within and outside the People function.   • Build and develop relationships with key partners such as People, Legal, Payroll and Financial Control

  • Researches and analyzes competitive compensation practices in the job market; contributes to established compensation surveys and/or develops and implements custom surveys as appropriate.

  • Develops and writes job descriptions to accurately describe job content, utilizing specialized, relational database job description software.

  • Maintains and updates compensation databases and the job description web site; consults with HR systems analysts regarding problems with programming and data integrity, and makes recommendations for system enhancements.

  • Reviews and oversees the career ladder process among assigned constituencies to ensure overall consistency and appropriateness of application, and compliance with established policies, procedures, and guidelines.

  • Assists and collaborates, as appropriate, in the planning, coordination, facilitation, administration, and reporting of the annual salary review program for regular staff employees.

  • Acts as a primary point of contact and consultation as appropriate, on job classification and reclassification and associated compensation issues.

  • Works with Human Resources as appropriate to assist client management with organizational structure development, job design, and related issues.

  • Assists in the development, writing, editing, and modification of operating policies, guidelines, and procedures, as appropriate.

  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree is Business, Accounting, Finance or related field required

  • Ability to facilitate change management through partner engagement and training

  • Ability to handle problems and take initiative to deliver solutions that are fit for purpose

  • Diligent, results oriented individual with attention to details, excellent work ethic and an organized approach to handling multiple priorities and tight timelines

  • Ability to implement proficient process controls to ensure effective and efficient utilization while minimizing risk

  • Excellent interpersonal skills both written and verbal

  • Ability to handle work well under pressure

  • Integrity to handle very confidential information - being discreet, proactive, resourceful and flexible

  • Dedication to fostering an inclusive culture and value varied perspectives


  • 3-5 years of experience working with compensation / financial data

  • Knowledge of VBA and SQL preferred

  • Excellent proficiency in MS Office (In particular mastery of Excel including using complex formulas to analyze data)

  • Proficiency in Human Resource information management systems preferred

  • Prior experience within a financial services industry preferred
