Safety Technician

Job Description:

Our client, an adhesive manufacturer, is looking for a Safety Technician to join their Quality Improvement Team in Charlotte, NC. This Technician will focus mainly on providing a safe environment for associates by routinely conducting inspections to assure regulatory compliance; responds safety incidents as needed; and investigate first aid incident reports, as necessary. Monday - Friday, 8-4:30pm.


  • Responsible for the verification tasks that are associated with the EHS system including conducting all the daily/weekly/monthly inspections.

  • Performs routine fire and safety inspections. Types of inspections include but are not limited to: Fire Extinguisher, Fire, Forklift, Crane, Spill Kit, Ladder, Aerial Lift

  • Prevention - Building Safety, Spill Contingency and Countermeasures (SPCC), Hazardous Waste and Bulk Storage,

  • Personal protective equipment, etc.

  • Performs follow-up inspections for corrective action and reports continued safety issues to the responsible department Manager.

  • Partners with departments to assist with creating solutions to safety concerns

  • Assists with the regular maintenance of PPE and other safety equipment

  • Assists First Aid staff as needed.

  • Conducts or assists with safety training classes when needed. Examples of classes include but are not limited to:

  • Powered Industrial Lift Truck, Fire Drills / Fire Safety, Fire Extinguisher inspection and use, Respirator fit testing, etc.

  • Completes and maintains timely and accurate audit and inspection documentation in an orderly and efficient manner.

  • Maintains cleanliness and safety in assigned work area and performs all duties in compliance with Safety guidelines and requirements and reports all unsafe or unusual conditions to management.

Education Requirements:

  • High School Diploma required.

  • AS or BS degree in related field, preferred.

Desired Background/Skills:


    • 2+ years past work experience in related area supporting manufacturing environments

    • Prior certification in Environmental, Safety or Health, OSHA Risk Management such as CIH, CSP, OSHA-30 hour, etc.

    • Portuguese or Spanish speaker preferred but not required

    • Teamwork and good communication skills
