Shipping and Receiving Clerk
Job Description:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized individual to join our team as a Shipping and Receiving Clerk. The Shipping and Receiving Clerk will be responsible for managing the shipment and receipt of goods, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in all transactions.
Responsibilities:
Receive incoming shipments and verify the accuracy of the contents against purchase orders or invoices.
Inspect deliveries for any damage, discrepancies, or defects and report any issues to the appropriate personnel.
Unload, unpack and organize incoming goods in designated storage areas.
Prepare outgoing shipments, ensuring that items are properly packed, labeled and secured for transportation.
Generate shipping labels, documents and other required paperwork.
Coordinate with carriers and schedule pickup and delivery times.
Maintain accurate records of all incoming and outgoing shipments, including tracking information and receipts.
Update inventory databases and stock levels to reflect incoming and outgoing items.
Conduct regular inventory checks to ensure accuracy and identify any discrepancies or shortages.
Communicate with internal departments and external suppliers to resolve any shipping or receiving issues.
Adhere to all safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area.
Assist in other warehouse tasks, such as order picking, stocking shelves, or inventory reconciliation, as needed.
Education Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Desired Background/Skills:
Proficient in using shipping and inventory management software.
Basic computer skills and familiarity with MS Office applications (e.g., Word, Excel).
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling goods and documentation.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
Physical stamina and ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 50 pounds).
Familiarity with safety regulations and practices in a warehouse environment.
Qualifications:
Previous experience in shipping, receiving, or warehouse operations is preferred.
1 year of forklift experience preferred.
1 year of shipping and receiving experience preferred.
1 year of warehouse experience preferred.
Other Information:
8-hour shift.
Monday to Friday.
