Job Description:
NC Tech is seeking a Membership Services Manager to join their team! The North Carolina Technology Association (NC TECH) is the statewide industry group for the tech sector. All companies, organizations and institutions are eligible for membership, given that technology is integral to all enterprises. NC TECH was incorporated in 1993 and represents 600+ members that collectively employ over 200,000 North Carolinians.
Responsibilities:
Manage efforts to retain and engage members by ensuring that current members leverage opportunities for engagement, are communicated with on a regular basis and are receiving value.
Manage procedures such as activating new members, processing billing, tracking payments, and deactivating non-renewing members.
Manage renewal billing process to include timed messaging and phone calls to confirm intent to renew.
Outline and implement a data-driven roadmap for continued improvement in member retention to ensure the achievement of retention goals to include timed outreach, engagement meetings and identifying red flags.
Funnel cancelled/former members back into the sales pipeline for future outreach.
Manage member services including NC TECH Connect (virtual community), Member Discounts and Member Directory.
Identify opportunities to enhance member benefits and services offered by the Association.
Actively collect feedback from members to share as appropriate and assist with annual membership survey.
Support colleagues by identifying and providing a warm intro to members who are hiring, interested in speaking and sponsorship.
Assist with member communication and marketing materials, e.g., letters, template messaging, newsletters, membership collateral and online presence.
Collaborate with communications and coordinate content for newsletters and social media to include Take 5 interviews, member spotlights, guest blogs and more.
Share opportunities to recognize members thru sharing business announcements, awards/accolades and more.
Work with VP of Strategy + Development to set annual membership goals.
Maintain accuracy of member database by diligent oversite of individual, corporate and group records.
Assist with pulling lists and preparing reports on membership statistics.
Assist members with updates to their Member Directory profiles (e.g. logos, business categories, corporate descriptions, multimedia, contact information etc.
Assist with general office coverage including phones, online chat and contact forms to triage inbound interest and inquiries.
Utilize professional and effective oral, written and listening communication skills to provide exceptional service to members.
Assist as needed in preparing for signature events (reviewing registration lists, preparing badges, printing signage, transporting items).
Assist with staffing NC TECH events and programs, with occasional overnight travel.
Education Requirements:
Bachelors degree.
Desired Background/Skills:
Knowledge of and contacts within North Carolina business and tech community is a plus.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills including the capability to work with executives and staff of all levels.
Skilled at writing promotional materials, membership materials and newsletter content.
Ability to take initiative, manage multiple detail-oriented projects and prioritize assignments.
Good collaboration skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Enthusiastic about working in one of the most vibrant sectors of the economy.
A consumer of business news (Business Journals, major dailies, social media, etc.).
A multi-tasker with great organizational skills.
Proactive and detail oriented especially with managing data.
Passionate about providing timely and professional customer service.
Possess excellent communication skills (verbal and written) including listening skills.
Savvy with tech tools to improve engagement and member experience.
Professional and confident to engage with leaders at all levels.
Qualifications:
2 to 4+ years of experience in membership, fundraising and/or sales experience.
Familiarity and experience working with associations, chambers, university organizations, etc.
Competency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.), use of the web, savvy with social media and an aptitude to quickly learn and comfortably use other various technology platforms including CRM systems and prospect databases.
Other Information:
Ability for limited travel as well as some morning/evening commitments.
