Personal Lines Customer Service Agent


Job Description:

Our client is searching for Personal Lines Customer Service Agent. This role will provide professional customer service for the clients of the Personal Lines Team by processing all lines of personal insurance in accordance with the objectives and procedures outlined by the Team/Branch Manager.


Responsibilities:


  • Provide prompt, accurate, courteous service to our clients.

  • Process cancellations and endorsement requests on computer system, with insurance carriers and in client?s files per the request of client. Also new business and renewals when applicable.

  • Create, type and send necessary correspondence to insurance companies and clients in order to update, obtain or verify necessary information in order to service all accounts.

  • Review policies and endorsements on all renewals for accuracy and relevance. Input this data on the computer system and maintain transactional files for each account.

  • Answer client's questions about their insurance coverages and needs.

  • Answer insurance company underwriter's questions about client accounts.

  • Process claims and issue checks when applicable.

  • Assist the Accounting Department in the reconciliation of company accounts.

  • Keep informed about new coverages and products.

  • All tasks should be handled in a manner which are in compliance with the "Quality Control Manual for Personal Lines Insurance".

  • Continue to look for opportunities to make new sales and cross sell when in contact with clients.

  • Interface with the Personal Lines Team/Producer to develop personal lines sales.

  • Enroll in certified insurance seminars to keep up dated in changes within the insurance industry.

  • Perform other specific duties and projects as assigned by Team/Branch Manager.

  • Pursue a program of personal and professional development.


Education Requirements:


  • A high school diploma, two years of college or two years experience in the insurance industry.

  • Hold required and appropriate insurance agent's license.


Desired Background/Skills:


  • Ability to use office equipment such as computer terminals, calculators, copiers, fax machines, typewriters.

  • Strong respect for confidentiality and attention to detail.

  • Good written and oral communication skills.

  • Ability to understand and analyze personal lines coverages, forms and policies.


Qualifications:


  • Word processing and typing skills required.

  • Previous customer service experience.

  • Previous experience in insurance preferred.
