Job Description:

Our client, located in Durham, NC is seeking a motivated Technical Writer to add to their team! They are looking for a Technical Writer that is passionate about the craft of drafting streamlined Request For Proposals (RFP). As a member of a cross-functional team, you will be responsible for helping the team write robust, well-defined RFPs and bids that translates into actual sales. You'll be asking the question, "How can we most effectively communicate with our customers to strengthen their confidence with us and secure their business?", and using the answer to guide your day-to-day work. A balance of exceptional technical writing skills, a background in compliance and the ability to cultivate interpersonal relationships are fundamental to our success. This is a full time, contract to hire opportunity!


Responsibilities:


  • Reviewing RFP/bid requirements and manage fulfillment of all requirements to ensure compliance and responsiveness

  • Proactively coordinate proposal efforts with internal stakeholders

  • Assisting in the collection of collateral and information specific to each RFP

  • Contributing to creation/writing/editing of RFP responses

  • Facilitating proposal review, ensure edits are incorporated and manage final proposal submission

  • Managing and updating list of references and ensure sign off from dedicated Account Managers

  • Assisting in printing and shipping all proposals


Education Requirements:


  • Bachelor's Degree strongly preferred

    Qualifications:


    • 3 years' experience working in a professional environment preferably in marketing, technical writing or sales

    • Excellent writing and editing skills

    • The ability to work well with highly structured timelines and deadlines

    • Ability to perform and deliver multiple projects on time

    • Deliver results that are clear, accurate, technically correct and achieve messaging objectives

    • The ability to work well in a team environment

    • Strong listening skills and overall communication skills, both written and verbal

    • Knowledge and understanding of Software as a Service and Information Technology strongly preferred

    • Ability to aggregate information to be written in clear, concise formats

    • Capacity to be responsible, flexible, accountable and detail-oriented with the ability to multitask, adapt and prioritize to meet deadlines

    • Be able to professionally communicate with all levels of personnel within the organization and with external clients and partners
