Staff Accountant


Job Description:

Our client, a nation-wide staffing company, is seeking a Staff Accountant! The Staff Accountant will work within the Finance & Administration department to manage the accounts payable process and perform other duties as needed or as required by manager. This is an onsite, full time, contract to hire position.


Responsibilities:


  • Process account payables by getting required approvals, ensuring accurate coding and initiate payments.

  • Timely review of banking transactions and perform monthly bank settlements.

  • Review and process credit card expense reports and receipts submitted by cardholders on monthly basis.

  • Perform various journal entries, account reconciliations, and provide general ledger support.

  • Assist with the daily, monthly and year-end operations of the Finance & Admin Department.

  • Managing payroll taxes and compliance with tax fallouts, monthly, quarterly, and annual filings.

  • Regularly maintain detailed reconciliations of all balance sheet accounts.

  • Maintain and protect organizational values by keeping information confidential.

  • Availability to work variable hours, according to need.


Education Requirements:


  • Associates or Bachelor's degree in Finance


Desired Background/Skills:

  • Analytical and Critical Thinking.

  • Associate or BS degree in accounting or finance preferred.


Qualifications:


  • 3 years of AR/AP experience is required

  • Experience with multi-state tax prep is required


Other Information:

  • Ability to plan, multi-task and manage time effectively.

  • Strong writing and record keeping ability for reports and training manuals.

  • Proficient in computer and database skills.
