Senior IT Project Manager


Job Description:

The Project Manager role within my client's Global Technology Solutions (GTS) PMO will primarily be responsible to project manage the Identify Access Management program ensuring the project is established to meet required scope, plans are appropriately managed and governed, effective challenge over project delivery, appropriate application of the project management framework, and timely escalation of risks and issues by applying deep expertise in project management principles to improve the organization's security posture and drive efficiency through automation by deployment of an Identify & Access solution


Responsibilities:


  • The Senior IT Project Manager is responsible for the end-to-end management of multiple medium to large scale, complex, multi-phased infrastructure and network technology type projects and is accountable for the project scope, schedule, budget, resources, and overall quality of project delivery

  • The Senior IT Project Manager is accountable for ensuring plans are established to meet required scope and are diligently managed and governed, effective challenge over project delivery, appropriate application of the project management framework, weekly status reporting, timely escalation of risks and issues, and appropriate management of dependencies, if applicable

  • Leads the project team and drives accountability and alignment of overall project health, proactively highlights and, where appropriate, escalates critical path delivery risks and issues for timely mitigation/resolution

  • Communicates a clear vision of project goals and objectives to the key stakeholders, setting expectations and holding teams accountable to those expectations to reach desired outcomes

  • Works with the cross-functional team members to develop the project plan milestones, deliverables, and activities to achieve the project objectives

  • Facilitates project team and steering committee meetings to communicate project progress and ensures resolution of risk and issues, prepares, and distributes meeting agendas, meeting minutes, open action items and status reports

  • Tracks and updates schedule progress, risks, issues, cost, and completion dates

  • Manages project execution by overseeing data collection process for project review and evaluation, using data-driven methods to quantify decision making

  • Build and manage relationships with key stakeholders within Technology, business units and cross-functional teams to support project delivery and be able to balance stakeholder needs, and effectively negotiates tradeoffs between scope, schedule, budget, and resources. Balancing needs of multiple stakeholders to gain buy-in

  • Ownership for the development of all project documentation (i.e., business requirements, MAP documents, closure documents, RFP, meeting minutes, presentations


Education Requirements:


  • Bachelor's degree and 5 - 8 years of related experience in a Technology organization; or equivalent combination of project management education and experience

  • Project Management Certification (PMP), ITIL Certification strongly preferred


Desired Background/Skills:


  • Knowledge of and experience with current technologies and project management techniques.

  • Experience with the Microsoft Office suite of applications (i.e., MS Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Visio, etc.).

  • Ability to multi-task.

  • Ability to manage the stress associated with meeting frequent, multiple, tight and competing deadlines.

  • Ability to work well with others.

  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.

  • Ability to listen and communicate both verbally and in writing.

  • Attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Expert in providing robust project/program management solutions

  • Program Management Experience of aligning the Program Strategy with the Organizational Strategy.

  • Waterfall, Agile methodologies

  • Definitive abilities in leadership, team building, motivating, planning, and executing plans. Skilled in building sustained alliances with top executives, customers, IT Managers, Project Sponsors, Vendors and other stakeholders
