School Servicing Center Specialist


Job Description:

Our client, located in Raleigh, NC, is seeking a School Servicing Center Specialist. This individual will provide quality service to school clients to facilitate their goal of utilizing the administrative efficiencies provided by outsourcing standard verification of FAFSA data. You will work independently in a fast-paced environment to review documents and information for School Servicing Center for completeness. This is a full time, contract to hire opportunity.


Responsibilities:


  • Review incoming documents and past activity on School Servicing Center files to determine the appropriateness of documents and to ensure proper handling of special or exception cases.

  • Respond to email and phone inquiries from students and schools. It is necessary to review student and school records on the database and/or web to properly respond to these inquiries.

  • Develop and maintain good service relationships with school clients. Provide support and training to schools. Act as a liaison between school clients and the verification contract vendor.

  • Handle exceptions by reviewing reports and other records.

  • Process faxes, emails, mail, returned mail, and any other incoming correspondence.

  • Train, support and mentor seasonal employees through hands-on training and development of training materials.

  • Participate in resource sharing activities and engage in cross-training as required.

  • Support Call Center as needed by researching individual student situations.

  • Assist office visitors with questions related to School Servicing Center activities

  • Assist management as needed and perform other duties as assigned.


Education Requirements:


  • Associates degree from an accredited institution and 2+ years related experience; Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution and 1+ years related experience preferred.

    • Experience reviewing documents and performing data entry.

    • Previous experience in a financial aid office environment

    • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

    • Ability to complete assigned tasks with minimal supervision.

    • Skill working with computer programs and ability to adapt quickly to system changes.

    • Ability to develop and maintain constructive and cooperative working relationships and work effectively in a team environment.

    • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.

    • Attention to detail and accuracy.
