Natural Sciences Quality Control Reviewer


Job Description:

Our client, based in Durham, NC, is in immediate need of a Quality Control Reviewer to add to their team! The Quality Control Reviewer will be responsible for the review and assessment of data records and reports across various Natural Sciences projects to ensure compliance with company standards and governmental regulatory requirements. This is a 1 year long contract with the possibility for conversion to direct-hire.


Responsibilities:


  • Review internal & external SOPs, initiate revisions of SOPs when required, and write and/or provide input on QA SOPs.

  • Manage multiple projects and changing priorities and prioritize work of self.

  • Maintain and support the quality systems infrastructure (e.g., prepares inspection checklists, metrics, reviews SOPs, flowcharts processes, or other infrastructure as applicable).

  • Likely to interact directly with clients & subcontractors site visits. May participate in regulatory inspections (FDA/EPA).

  • Provide advice and/or training to departments on routine GLP or GMP issues, process improvements and manage solutions (e.g., corrective and preventive action process) with minimal supervision.

  • Demonstrate thorough understanding and regulatory expertise in the technical area (e.g., chemistry vs. toxicology) to which one is assigned.

  • Work towards or has earned the RQAP-GLP (or equivalent) to demonstrate experience/knowledge of regulations.

  • Serve as a team leader, with effective interpersonal skills, in communications with management.

  • Independently plans and perform all routine and complex audit and inspection activities; prepares high quality QAU reports.

  • Work with management to establish efficient timelines for all work area and meet timeline requirements.

  • Identify need for innovative and effective QA systems that meet strategic objectives.

  • Take training in multiple functional areas and/or provide training in at least one functional area.

  • Represent increasing levels of responsibility in different size work groups operating with different levels of autonomy and therefore experience required, requiring almost no oversight for completing tasks while providing full QA support to projects (project initiation to closeout).

  • Train and mentor less experienced QA staff in audits and inspections.


Education Requirements:


  • Minimally a Bachelors Degree, ideally in Chemistry or the Sciences.

  • Candidates with at least 6 months of experience in analytical laboratory setting is preferable.
