Job Description:

Our client, the Raleigh Chamber of Commerce, is seeking a Membership Engagement Manager to join their team! The Membership Engagement Manager will oversee the development and management of content for assigned programs focused on small business, young professionals and member connectivity. This includes overseeing events, volunteer committees and task forces, while providing excellent service to members and leading the delivery of valuable programming to meet members needs. This is a direct hire opportunity located in Raleigh, NC.


Responsibilities:


  • Delivery of programs that meet the needs of small business and young professionals of Chamber member companies

  • Recruit volunteer committee chairs and participants. Schedule, prepare, coordinate, and follow up on committee and task force meetings to ensure committees are successful

  • Work in cooperation with Chamber staff, volunteer committees, task forces, and boards to produce impactful, marketable content for the following programs: Business After Hours, Coffee with Leaders, Member Showcase, Networking 101, New Member Orientation, Small Business Week Events, Young Professionals Network (Involvement Day, Morning Program, Task Force Committee, Network Socials and Board)

  • Other events and programs as assigned

  • Source and confirm speakers and coordinate their preparation and appearance at events

  • Work as a team member with events, communications, sales staff, and volunteers to produce high-quality programs that meet budget expectations

  • Track income and expenses in Excel and Atlas database to meet budget goals for assigned programs, working in cooperation with events and accounting staff members

  • Perform other duties assigned by supervisor and as needed by the team

  • Recruit and mange Young Professionals Network Board

  • Recruit and manage Young Professionals Network Task Force Committees

  • Prospect, sell, and retain Young Professionals Network memberships

  • Manage Young Professionals Network budget

  • Manage onboarding of new Young Professionals Network members and lead/coordinate member engagement efforts

  • Schedule, coordinate, and execute all Young Professionals Network events: six morning programs, four orientation sessions for new members, two networking events, two service days

  • Maintain the Young Professionals Network database and website

  • Send renewal thank you email bi-weekly

  • Send delayed renewal letters and emails and past due accounts

  • Develop and implement communications program to engage and retain Young Professionals Network members


Education Requirements:


  • Associates degree required, Bachelors degree preferred

Qualifications:


  • Minimum two years of experience in working with high-level volunteers to create leadership and professional development programming

  • Limited travel is required for Leadership Raleigh Retreat within a two-hour drive of the Triangle and for errands and to event locations within Wake County and RTP.

  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint

  • Excellent communication skills, verbal, written, and presentation

  • Excellent customer relationship skills

  • Previous experience working with a non-profit or member association, customer relationship management, project management preferred

  • Proven experience with managing leadership programming and creating content for events/programs preferred

  • Experience managing volunteer committees and task forces preferred
