Legal Assistant/ Office Administrator

Job Description:

Our client a local real estate law firm, is looking for Legal Assistant/ Office Administrator to answer phones and assist with general law office tasks. The ideal candidate is a multi-tasker, has excellent people skills, enjoys serving the public, and works well with others. Attention to detail is a must!


  • Assisting with legal documents under the direction of the attorney

  • Proofreading all work for content and errors

  • Preparing and maintaining client files in both electronic and paper filing systems

  • Prepare Settlement Statements and Closing Disclosure Statements for Closing Transactions

  • Close client files and preparing them for electronic scanning and file storage

  • File/ scan legal documents

  • Schedule client appointments

  • Answer telephone calls and communicate with all clients with professionalism, respectfulness and tact

  • Meet with walk in clients

  • Minimal housekeeping

  • Keep up on Supply orders

  • Prompt and regular attendance for work

Education Requirements:

  • High School Diploma Required

  • 2 year degree preferred

Desired Background/Skills:

  • Well organized

  • Works well autonomously but enjoys being a part of a team

  • Quick learner on computer programs and paperwork

  • Team player

  • Eager to learn, but also enjoys responsibility and running with tasks

  • Great communication skills and project management skills

  • Must be passionate about the client experience and cares about our reputation and relationship with our clients


  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word)

  • NC Notary is a plus
