IT Support Specialist


Job Description:

Our client is seeking an IT Support Specialist that will work in their Morrisville, NC office and will be responsible for managing the corporate computing infrastructure of the company. Responsibilities will include desktop support for Windows and Mac environments, Exchange 2010 administration, and Windows Domain administration. This is a full-time, contract opportunity with a growing team and dynamic company culture.


Responsibilities:


  • Desktop support for Windows and Mac computers

  • Configure desktop, laptops and iPhone for new hires

  • Setup and maintain remote office infrastructures including network and phone systems

  • Participate in rotating on call schedule covering after hours, weekends and holidays

  • Prioritize and manage multiple projects/helpdesk tickets simultaneously and drive projects to completion


Education Requirements:


  • BS, BA or equivalent from an accredited four-year university


Desired Background/Skills:


  • MCTS, MCITP, Security+, Network+, A+, etc. certifications are preferred

  • Experience working with trouble tickets such as Remedey, ZenDesk, Spiceworks, JIRA (preferred)


Qualifications:


  • 2+ years demonstrated success in IT or related field

  • Demonstrated capability to take initiative and work independently

  • Customer service oriented including strong communication skills

  • Excellent problem solving skills, able to effectively troubleshoot issues remotely

  • 1-2 years of desktop support and Windows administration

  • Basic Active Directory and domain infrastructure experience

  • Experience with desktop imaging products (Windows Deployment Services, etc.)

  • Experience with remote access/VPN and remote support tools (DameWare, ScreenShare, VNC)

  • Familiar with Atlassian product family (JIRA, Confluence, BitBucket, HipChat)

  • Experience maintaining Virtual Machines using VMware, Hyper-V or VirtualBox

  • Basic understanding of VMware vCenter and vSphere concepts and administration
