Job Description:

Our client, a rapidly growing investment and wealth management firm, is seeking a Investment Operations Specialist to join their team! The Investment Operations Specialist will be responsible for investment and advisory operations for high-touch clients within the medical space. The ideal candidate will have experience in a larger RIA firm and will be motivated and capable of steering the investment operations towards company growth goals. This person should be highly motivated with excellent communication and analytical skills. The ability to learn quickly and to comprehend difficult concepts is a tremendous asset in this position. This person should also possess the enthusiasm and entrepreneurial skills needed to grow within the company. This is a direct hire opportunity with remote flexibility and limited travel to the Durham, NC office.


  • Manage all investment operations, performance reporting, data feeds, data input, client reporting, account application processing, money movements, and regulatory requirements for 15+ top clients

  • Handle reporting and data management of private fund as it relates to client and regulatory reporting

  • Serves as a primary partnership manager for existing and new investment and advisory relationships

  • Develops and executes a high-touch, client-centric experience to maintain and expand existing client relationships

  • Fosters effective partnerships with leadership and broader business teams to support departmental strategic approaches

  • Lead new client on-boarding process to ensure clients understanding of the value of advice and accompanying solutions

  • Deliver full range of investment solutions ensuring alignment to client goals and strategies while leveraging specialists and applicable investment management tools

  • Maintain consistent communication with third party data vendors to ensure proper data flow

  • Assist in maintaining compliance database repository

  • Manage portfolio management stewardship, including; daily account share and cost basis reconciliation review, corporate action review, account set-up and maintenance, performance reporting, billing calculations and reporting, and maintain written procedures

  • Provide support for Operations and Client Advocate Group

  • Update and maintain open items lists as needed

  • Ensure work items are completed in a timely manner

  • Provide project support as needed

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelors Degree from accredited institution in a business related field preferred

Desired Background/Skills:

  • Experience in operations with RIA firm is required. 3 or more years in RIA Investment Advisor Operations is preferred.

  • Minimum two years experience with Black Diamond, Orian, or Addepar is a requirement

  • Prior Finance / Accounting experience preferred

  • Experience with Charles Schwab custodian platform preferred

  • Experience with eMoney, various CRMs, a plus

  • Experience with the following software types a plus: Portfolio Management, Rebalancing Software, CRM, ConnectWise Manage
