Job Description:

Our team at Greene Resources is actively seeking an HR Manager to join our team! The HR Manager supports various human resource activities, including consulting with team members on laws, regulations, and escalated matters. This individual ensures compliance by creating and implementing policies and procedures that apply to the internal and contract workforce. To be successful in the role, the HR Manager will be flexible in assisting with all aspects of the human resources department.


Responsibilities:


  • Ensure company compliance with state and federal regulations in order to mitigate risk for company and clients.

  • Consult with team regarding employee relations including coaching, investigations, conflict resolution, performance management, and terminations.

  • Partner with legal entities regarding escalated employee relations matters.

  • Manage processes surrounding protected leave, including FMLA and ADA.

  • Manage unemployment claims from the Division of Employment Security (DES).

  • Lead DES hearings, coordinate, and prepare the witnesses and appeal determinations.

  • Manage workers? compensation process by investigating the injury/illness, submitting claims, and acting as point of contact for employees, clients, insurance company and medical facilities.

  • Manage insurance renewals by partnering with insurance agent and leadership team.

  • Approve positions after analyzing risk and identify appropriate workers comp codes by working with insurance agent.

  • Participate in workers compensation audits biweekly and annually by partnering with accounting department.

  • Determine exemption and independent contractor status for new positions based on FLSA criteria.

  • Perform document and compliance management in electronic onboarding system.

  • Maintain compliance with local, state, and federal laws by staying abreast of regulations and ensuring policies are aligned.

  • Educate employees on changes in HR laws and regulations.

  • Create and conduct training based on company needs.

  • Create and update internal and client specific policies and handbooks.

  • Draft standard operating procedures, HR forms, and policies.

  • Serve as backup for reviewing backgrounds, drug screens and other compliance items while following standard processes based on EEOC guidelines.

  • Assist with contracts and other legal agreements.

  • Complete other projects and tasks (audits, implementations, etc.) as needed.


Education Requirements:


  • Bachelors degree preferred


Desired Background/Skills:



    Qualifications:


    • Minimum 4 years human resource generalist experience

    • PHR and/or SHRM-CP strongly preferred

    • Strong verbal and proven written communication skills

    • Competent in MS Office and HRIS systems

    • Ability to handle and resolve problems efficiently and effectively

    • Ability to establish priorities, work independently, and proceed with objectives without supervision

    • Strong organizational skills
