Employee Relations Specialist

Job Description:

Greene Resources is looking for a contract Employee Relations Specialist to join our Raleigh internal team. The Employee Relations Specialist will be responsible for responding to contract employee requests, concerns and questions in a timely manner. The Employee Relations Specialist will conduct necessary inquiries on both client and employee relations issues and involve appropriate internal and client resources for guidance and support to determine resolution. This individual will provide support on all employee engagement initiatives. The position will work 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. or 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Fridays to provide support across all shifts. In addition, the Employee Relations Specialist will need to provide occasional weekend coverage.


  • Develop and maintain strong rapport with contract employees at the client site

  • Resource for contract employees when requesting guidance on scheduling and time off concerns

  • Provide efficient verbal and/or written follow up to employee requests, concerns and inquiries; operate as a prime reviewer of absences and tardies; delegate requests to the appropriate contact for resolution

  • Conduct research on employee reported issues, policy violations and collaborate with internal team resources to determine resolution

  • Effectively document all conversations, investigations and actions taken in internal system

  • Review and follow up (as needed) on employee concerns reported by support team members to ensure their actions were compliant and detailed; escalate any concerns to the further management as applicable

  • Facilitate terminations unless otherwise instructed by internal Human Resources team

  • Assist in drafting written communications on policy updates and reminders, event details and project incentives

  • Reduce turnover and absenteeism through effective mentoring and coaching of employees; ensuring immediate follow-up on significant attendance violations

  • Provide input on evaluations and performance reviews as applicable

  • Liaison with Human Resources department and client regarding work related injuries, co-employment and risk issues

  • Comply with company policies and procedures

  • Work on various projects as assigned by management

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred

Desired Background/Skills:


    • Minimum of 2 years of employee relations experience

    • Ability to handle and resolve problems efficiently and effectively

    • Successfully establish priorities, work independently and proceed with objectives without supervision

    • Strong time management and organizational skills

    • Able to communicate effectively in verbal and written correspondence, including business interactions and Internet (email) communication

    • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Word, PowerPoint and Excel
