Document Specialist
Job Description:
Our client, a research nonprofit, has an immediate need in our Corporate Records Management department for an individual to serve as an Archivist and documentation processor with some secondary support potential for digital documentation system testing and administration. The need is for a full time (9-5 or 8-4, M-F) 6-12 month engagement with the possibility of conversion to full time at the end of the year. Must have a keen eye for detail, ability to work with numbers and computer systems, and ability to lift and move boxes of documentation up to 50 pounds. This position in onsite in the RTP area.
Responsibilities:
Performs operational duties in support of regulatory, security, and industry practices compliance documentation.
Coordinates receiving and delivery of intellectual property in order to maintain and track document chain-of-custody.
Serves as backup support for electronic data/document management & quality management system.
Manages process for creation, revision, and retirement/archive of intellectual property and controlled documents, including research-related outputs, standard operating procedures, and training records.
Supports physical records digitization efforts in collaboration with external vendor.
Supports staff with implementation of system workflows.
Supports record retention and management including archiving and record destruction by established vendors.
Education Requirements:
Associate degree and 2 years of experience, Bachelors degree and 0 years of experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Desired Background/Skills:
Excellent knowledge of MS Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel.
Ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
Ability to work well with others.
Ability to listen and communicate well both verbally and in writing.
Ability to work independently.
Attention to detail and accuracy.
Able to lift approximately 20 lbs.
