Department Manager

Job Description:

Our client, a local health provider, is looking to hire a Department manager to provide clinical and administrative leadership within the clinical department and organization We are looking for recent experience and for someone who is looking for a long term role within the company.. This position is Monday -Friday from 8am-5pm.


  • Maintains accountability for financial management of all clinical areas to include:

  • Development of annual operating and capital budgets

  • Monthly analysis of financial statements

  • Development of action plan to ensure operation within established budgetary parameters

  • Maintain responsibility for planning and decision making for all clinical areas to include:

  • Space planning

  • Budget planning

  • Staffing planning

  • Quality improvement planning

  • Project planning

  • Ensures efficiency of daily operations of all clinical areas.

  • Ensures high quality of care to patients, service to physicians, and relationships within and between departments. Includes:

  • Development of clinical pathways/guidelines/protocols

  • Measurement and improvement of patient satisfaction

  • Development of quality improvement efforts in collaboration with LPN II

  • Systems evaluation and design in collaboration with other managers

  • Maintains patient confidentiality

  • Utilizes nursing process effectively in assessing patient needs and planning appropriate follow-up/intervention

  • Documents assessment and interventions thoroughly and concisely

  • Develops patient education materials, triage protocols, and clinical guidelines in collaboration with physicians

  • Uses computer system efficiently and accurately

  • Provides patient/staff education

  • Oversees LPNs, CMAs and Patient Representatives

  • Maintains effective communication and interacts with appropriately, effectively, and professionally with all members of health care team

Education Requirements:

  • Associate's Degree or Bachelor's Degree
