Job Description:

Our client, the Raleigh Chamber of Commerce, is seeking a Database Coordinator to join their team! The Database Coordinator will manage and maintain the integrity, quality and accuracy of the Chambers customer relationship management system (CRM) and to provide initial and ongoing CRM training to new and existing staff members. This is a direct hire opportunity located in Raleigh, NC.


  • Manage CRM custom fields and codes, database preferences, security settings, groups, users, lists, event and revenue item creation, and committee management within the CRM.

  • Support CRM users with data queries, email list selections, reports, exports and related assistance; serve as tier 1 technical support for client side CRM issues.

  • Set up, maintain and support the structure of all events housed within the CRM system or in third party meeting platforms for virtual events.

  • Submit support requests and track through resolution of server-side issues and software bugs via the CRM software developers support system.

  • Monitor all new CRM updates by way of attending regular CRM trainings and workshops as well as reviewing all update release notes, for suggested implementation to VP of IT. Provide plan and train staff when implementing new suggested and approved features, and provide feedback to CRM support on new features.

  • Generate agenda, training material, and lead CRM monthly users groups.

  • Create, verify and regularly maintain the integrity of member organization and employee profiles including handling: Email subscription requests, Profile update requests (from our staff or from members directly via online portal), Online member coupon approvals and assistance, Identify billing exceptions for AR team.

  • Manage online member directory preferences, functionality and integrity: Online directory listing category creation and maintenance, Monitor and police online directory form abuse.

  • Respond to member requests for referral data, online member directory listing assistance, login credentials.

  • Respond to internal requests for event and membership analytical data.

  • Maintain and update custom SQL reports for data extraction and analysis.

  • Recommend and implement best practices for data policies to preserve and strengthen data integrity and usability.

  • Document and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for database best practices as well as database maintenance tasks.

  • Attend chamber events when necessary, to provide registration support as primary back up to the event registration assistant due to vacation, sick leave, or other absences.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Education Requirements:

  • Associates degree preferred.

Desired Background/Skills:


    • One year of experience in a CRM or similar database environment.

    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, including high degree of attention to detail and accurate processes.

    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

    • Ability to prioritize day-to-day tasks.

    • Successful candidates will demonstrate a high level of customer service aptitude and the ability to work in a fast-paced and time-sensitive environment.

    • Familiarity with SQL or Crystal Reports are a plus.
