Job Description:

Our client, located in Durham, NC is seeking a skilled Contracts Administrator to add to their team! The Contracts Administrator owns the commercial contracts function of the Legal Department. Under the supervision of the General Counsel, you will manage contract review and negotiation and assist with the company?s RFP responses. The Contracts Administrator will also act as a liaison between Legal and other departments to shepherd contracts through the company?s approval process and interfaces with customers and other external business partners. This is a full time, contract to hire opportunity with an exciting company!


  • Under the supervision of the General Counsel, the Contracts Administrator owns the commercial contracts process

  • Perform contract review, manage approvals and escalations with internal stakeholders, negotiates and interfaces with external customers and business partners

  • Coordinates the contracts review process including drafting and facilitating internal approvals, interface and negotiation with external clients and vendors

  • Coordinates certificates of insurance with corporate Insurance division

  • Working closely with the RFP team, reviews and prepares certifications, questionnaires, exceptions matrices and other documents as part of the RFP process

  • Escalates non-standard terms for legal review and approval within Company?s leadership

  • Ensures contract accuracy, compliance with Company standards, compliance with regulatory requirements

  • Ensures contracts are properly executed

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent

Desired Background/Skills:


    • 3-5 years of relevant experience at in a corporate commercial contracts environment

    • Experience in public sector procurement, technology agreements, and/or the transportation industry is a plus

    • Excellent communication skills and a high degree of attention to detail

    • The ability to prioritize projects from multiple internal clients, and to work both independently and collaboratively: experience working as a member of or supporting cross functional team is a plus

    • Curious mind willing to learn new ideas, and the ability to adapt and respond to change effectively

    • Experience in negotiation and administration of contracts process, approval protocols, escalations procedures, and delegations of authority in a corporate environment

    • In depth understanding of basic legal principles and some knowledge of complex legal concepts

    • Experience with Salesforce and cloud-based contracts management solutions preferred

    • Understanding of the RFP and procurement and purchasing requirements specifically in the public sector

    • Proven success in data analysis, contract review, and project management

    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as required

    • Ability to effectively prioritize work, identify key concepts and complete tasks quickly while maintaining a high level of attention to detail

    • Proven organizational and communication skills
