Architectural Design Coordinator

Job Description:

Our client, a leading residential home builder located in Clayton, NC is seeking a skilled Architectural Design Coordinator to add to their team! Long before a buyer sees one of their homes, as the Architectural Design Coordinator, you will have taken the necessary steps to ensure that the final product is up to date with any and all current trends to meet the needs of today's buyers. From floor plan design concepts to material finish details, the canvas is yours.   • Draft and design floor plans, elevations and detailed material finish selections

  • Utilize general knowledge of design principles to facilitate detailed building designs and architectural drawings using CAD and 3D modeling software

  • Coordinate with third party architects and engineers to develop construction-ready plans

  • Influence concept development by providing trend analysis and research that aligns with product demand and enhances our consumers' experience

  • Manage floor plan portfolio and collaborate with the development team at the onset of new projects to determine product types and building standards

  • Cultivate knowledge of trends in building products and finish materials and maintain current samples in the office to reflect the products being used in our homes

  • Provide any design work necessary for marketing and sales so that we are accurately representing our product in print materials, on websites, etc.

  • Prepare thoroughly documented interior and exterior selections for inventory homes and coordinate with purchasing team and project managers to ensure cohesiveness

  • Meet with buyers to guide them through selections process for design builds, pre-sales and inventory homes and provide thorough documentation to field and office team

  • Plan, execute and maintain timelines for special projects including; our corporate office building improvements, third party projects and other downtown projects

  • Utilize design skills and knowledge of spatial planning, ergonomics and interior furnishings to coordinate furniture, materials, finishes, and decor for special projects.

  • Manage staging furniture and decor inventory and coordinate with sales team and project managers to move staging items based on construction progress and houses selling

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Interior Design, Architecture or related field

Desired Background/Skills:


    • Experience and knowledge in residential and commercial construction design concepts

    • Must have working knowledge in CAD/Sketchup and 3D modeling software - AutoCAD proficiency and experience is preferred

    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

    • Detail-oriented, self-starter with superb organizational skills
