Accounts Payable Specialist


Job Description:

Our client is seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist with 2 or more years of experience.


Responsibilities:


  • (VENDOR INVOICING)

  • Process Vendor invoices in the business system

  • Verify that all Vendor invoices are coded to the general ledger correctly

  • Research all costs associated on the purchase order are correct and match the Vendor invoice

  • Process Vendor payments by ACH, credit card or check

  • (VENDOR MAINTENANCE)

  • Set up new Vendors in business system

  • Maintain existing Vendor information

  • Complete new customer vendor set up forms

  • (OTHER DUTIES)

  • Release orders on credit hold

  • Process requests for Certificates of insurance

  • Review Statement of Accounts from Vendors to verify their validity


Education Requirements:


  • Associates degree in accounting, business administration or equivalent work experience


Desired Background/Skills:


  • Experience in month-end and year-end closing procedures

  • Must be detail and accuracy oriented and must have the ability to work well under pressure and to be able to meet deadlines

  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize work

  • Ability to communicate clearly in written and verbal form.

  • Integrity-the individual must possess high ethical standards and expects the same from all others in the organization

  • Develop and maintain relationships with customers, vendors, co-workers and sales team

  • Committed to internal and external customer service


Qualifications:


  • Minimum 2 years of experience in an accounting role

  • Must be literate in Microsoft Office Suite and other accounting software programs.

  • Basic knowledge of finance, accounting, sales and order management

  • Basic understanding of accounting functions including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Inventory Control and Auditing
